Personal:

My name is Vinh Nguyen. I'm 28 years old, former Marine...

Started running when I joined the military in 1999. I did not enjoy running until 2006-7 when I started training for my first marathon. In the Marines, we ran an average of 3-5 miles. I never ran any distances longer than that until I started training for the Myrtle Beach Marathon in 2007.

Currently working as a government contractor (electronics technician).

I finished my Associates of Science in August and have finally been able to train hard full time. I decided to take time of school to see how much of a difference it will make and maybe hopefully achieve my goal and qualify for Boston.

Thanks Sam! =) The cytomax was ok, I guess it worked. Didn't taste that great but it's not bad lol. As for the Amino Vital, I guess we'll see tomorrow how I'm feeling. I don't feel too bad right now though. What do you use?

Wicked sweet run Vinh! I'm still in my PJ's. It's been a PJ month...Feel too lazy to blog..I might get around to posting a blog on yesterdays run eventually. :) Once my cup of JOE kicks in...I'm curious to see what is in your amino vital..going to look it up..when I am lifting and taking my supplements for that I noticed I never got sore from any run I ever did even running "hard"....I guess having the supplements still in my system that day..it worked for my runs as well as Weights workouts...Ok..I just looked up amino vital..Yeah same type of supplement I take for Weights. :)

Awesome run. Way to kick it at the end.

Nice LR. That's a great tempo effort after going 16 miles! How do you carry your drink, a belt or Camelback or something?

From vinh on Sun, Jan 24, 2010 at 14:19:40 from 71.68.254.197

Missy! Thanks. It's okay to be lazy sometimes haha. So today my legs feel great, not really sore at all. I wonder if it's the amino vital? I did soak in the tub with some epsom salt. Maybe that was it too. Anyway, still looking forward to see your pictures!

Thanks Lyman! I've never ran anything past 20 for a training run. I was surprised how good I still felt at the end.

Thanks Joe! I use a Nathan fuel belt for those long runs when I need water. Kind of annoying to run in but I guess you get used to it. How are you feeling after your trail race?

From SlowJoe on Sun, Jan 24, 2010 at 15:25:36 from 71.21.119.111

Ok, just curious. I haven't had a real long run yet - my plan was going to be hiding water bottles along the highway but your way sounds much better. Not too sore at all, just a bit around the ankles from the uneven terrain.

Hi Vinh :) That would be awesome if you found your recipe for unsore legs. I'm still trying to pinpoint my recipe...Well I still feel lazy..but I need to get my bloggin done! So off I go...
