Personal:

My name is Vinh Nguyen. I'm 28 years old, former Marine...

Started running when I joined the military in 1999. I did not enjoy running until 2006-7 when I started training for my first marathon. In the Marines, we ran an average of 3-5 miles. I never ran any distances longer than that until I started training for the Myrtle Beach Marathon in 2007.

Currently working as a government contractor (electronics technician).

I finished my Associates of Science in August and have finally been able to train hard full time. I decided to take time of school to see how much of a difference it will make and maybe hopefully achieve my goal and qualify for Boston.

Great run at a good pace. Mid 70's sounds really nice but a bit warm for 13 miles. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Nice run Vinh. I'd say nice long run but all your runs seem long to me, so nice run.

Thanks Joe! Ha, I'm just trying to stay consistent and slowly upping my mileage. Your training is looking great. Keep up the great work!

Hi Vinh..I am totally out of the loop...what is the next race you are training for? All my runs have been short training for the Olympic Distance Tri I am doing in 4 weeks...think my longest has been 10 for several months. Funny a 13 miler sounds long to me..haha. Crazy. I wonder if I can run 13 anymore..hehe.

From vinh on Mon, Apr 19, 2010 at 10:59:42 from 75.77.22.187

Missy - I have a 10k on May 8th. After that, nothing planned besides a fall marathon. What are you doing after the Olympic distance tri? I'm sure you could run 13 easy. I really want you to get in a 5k soon. I wanna see how much faster you are than me =P

we had lovely weather here on sunday and today. it's cooled off quite a bit... must be the remains of all the snow our utah friends had last week! they get snow, we get 70* temps. haha

From vinh on Tue, Apr 20, 2010 at 07:21:01 from 75.77.22.187

KP - haha, yea I'm not a big fan of snow. If it was up to me I'd like to live somewhere, where the temps are 50-70 year around. I think I train the best at those temps.

U are going to PR at that 10k Vinh. :D

As for me...The week after SGTRI I will be doing Kidarelay I think.

http://web.me.com/triracer/KidaRelay/Home.html

The team I was supposed to race with misunderstood my coach, and found another girl. I am bummed because I was going to join the winning team...They are fast.

Anyhow..coach has another team lined up for me most likely.

I talk with coaches tomorrow morning about my races for the summer. For Sure Utah Half TRI (Half Iron) at the end of August. That will be the one I am training for following the May 15th race.

http://www.racetri.com/utah-half.html

Most likely St. George Marathon as well...will be doing TONS of races in the summer...A tri In June, and a 5k. July prob 2 10k's and a Tri, Aug 1 or 2 Half Marathons and a Half Iron....

Ok I will stop spamming your page now..haha.

I will get my plan all set tomorrow.

:)
