My name is Vinh Nguyen. I'm 28 years old, former Marine...

Started running when I joined the military in 1999. I did not enjoy running until 2006-7 when I started training for my first marathon. In the Marines, we ran an average of 3-5 miles. I never ran any distances longer than that until I started training for the Myrtle Beach Marathon in 2007.

Currently working as a government contractor (electronics technician).

I finished my Associates of Science in August and have finally been able to train hard full time. I decided to take time of school to see how much of a difference it will make and maybe hopefully achieve my goal and qualify for Boston.

Kelli - Lol, my carboloading day is Friday at lunch. My ritual is to go to Olive Garden. I love the soup Zuppa Toscana (spelling?), breadsticks, chicken alfredo!

Missy! - haha =P you really wanna know what's cruel? Me being here on the east coast by myself while all the cool peeps here on FRB are in Utah! Well, at least I know Adam and he's cool!

Mmmmmmm I haven't been to O Garden in YEARS...got hooked on Macaroni Grill..Do they still have that all you can eat salad Bowl...I LOVE their crunchy Unending salad..Wish they had a light dressing tho..Don't need THAT much oil..lol.

Oh, and...Utah isn't that great...if you move here they will take away your Fancy Post Race Pint Glass!

Speaking of food....I'm Ravenous!!!!!

I always feel sluggish and bloated on taper weeks. Stay focused, you will be toeing the starting line before you know it.

I hear you Vinh - I have only been through one taper, but it really was the pits. I was nervous that I was gonna lose everything I had worked so hard to accomplish... to this day I still question it. Seeing all that you have accomplished, you are gonna rock this on Saturday!! I can't wait to hear how you do!!!! Good luck from the cool chick in Mexico on the other coast...LOL!!!!
